Being a wedding photographer really brings out two sides of my personality…

Earlier in the day, I’m bringing the calm energy, checking on my bride, fixing dresses, keeping portraits on track, and making sure we get all those sweet little moments captured.

But once that reception gets going? I’m probably requesting songs from the DJ, teaching somebody the newest line dance, encouraging a dance-off, or grabbing a slice of that wedding cake.

You’re not gonna find me tucked away in a corner! I’m gonna be right there in the middle of all the FUN, camera in hand, getting all the shots and having the best time doing it.

And since I’m being honest, y’all spend WAY too much money on these weddings for everybody not to have a good time… and that includes me!! 😜

I love what I do, I love celebrating with my couples, and if that’s your kind of vibe… I’m probably your kind of photographer! 🤍

2026 has been one of the busiest years yet for JLP, and we’re only halfway through fall wedding season! 🤍

Between weddings, sessions, second shooting, late nights editing, early mornings momming, and all the behind the scenes work that comes with running a business, life has been FULL! 😂 And when I looked at my calendar and realized I’d only have TWO full weekends off between August and Christmas… let’s just say it put a few things into perspective!

I’ve poured so much of myself into building JLP, and seeing how far it’s come is something I’ll never take for granted. But this year has also reminded me that success isn’t always about having every date on the calendar booked.

When you’re booking weddings a year in advance, you don’t always know what school events, family celebrations, or milestones might fall on those dates. I’ve missed a few moments this year that I wish I could get back, and it’s definitely changed how I want to approach things moving forward.

So if you’ve made it this far… no, this isn’t a JLP retirement post! (Y’all can’t get rid of me that easy😂) Just a decision to slow down a little and be more intentional with my time.

I’m only accepting 2 more weddings for Fall 2027 before closing my books for the season, and I’ll be approaching 2028 bookings with that same intention.

I didn’t work this hard to build a business I love just to miss out on the life I’m building outside of it.

Money is great, but time with my family is better. I’m beyond thankful for how far JLP has come, and SO excited for what’s to come! More balance, more memories with my family, and plenty more beautiful love stories to capture. 🤍
