Let me clear up something I keep seeing shared:

Those “0–400, 400–1K, 1K–4K” algorithm stages look official—but they aren’t.

Instagram doesn’t use a published ladder where reaching a certain number of views unlocks the next push. Ranking is personalized based on the viewer, the content and previous interactions.

So 400 views doesn’t automatically mean your reel failed. And 20,000 views doesn’t guarantee the next one will perform.

Here’s what we can actually control:

The hook.
The message.
The pacing.
The value.
Giving the right person a reason to keep watching or share it.
