Does anyone else have a magical place that they love to visit? I mean that place where you feel you can let everything go that you have been carrying…the place where you stand in awe…the place that brings you wonder…the place where the deafening silence is very real…the place where you lose who you are and take in every sight, smell and sound…the place where you overwhelmingly feel God’s presence…the place where you you are totally drawn to and don’t want to leave…and when you have to, the tears flow.

Well, this is my place. I stumbled upon it probably about 5 years ago, and I was in AWE, from the moment I entered. Those trees…. 💚 I am absolutely enamored by these Red Pines, reaching around 100 feet.

I’m so grateful to be able to visit this particular spot in the Whitefish Dunes State Park. It’s one of the first places I go on our trip, and the last place before we leave. It’s a hidden gem. ❤️

And yes, the tears come every year. 🥹

This was one of the most beautiful starts to our day last week, while up in the UP. I would get up before sunrise each morning, make a mug of tea, throw on a sweatshirt over my pajamas…and witness the sunrise…either on the pier at the lake…or right here, on this glorious winding country road that took us to the house we stayed in.

I’d listen to the loons calling out over the water…or the woodpeckers pounding for their latest meal. I’d witness the sun beams burning through the morning haze that was lingering between the trees…or the curious deer that would stop and stare at me for what seemed like hours, before bounding away with his white tail right behind. God so graciously gave me these moments…the stillness and peace that I so needed to get back to.

What a WONDERFULLY needed time with my husband, to reconnect…to laugh…to play…to experience God’s beautiful creation together…and think back on the 40 years of our marriage. It has been such a journey…the valleys and mountains we faced together…and each one bringing us closer to each other and to Jesus. I wouldn’t want to re-write ANY of it. God absolutely knows what he’s doing. ❤️ What a gift.

I have been so amazed at God’s creation lately. 🫶🏼

There was one morning last week, I went out to my favorite forest preserve near my house (you all should know it by now 😉) , to witness the sunrise, and I got so overwhelmed by his artistry…all the many different shapes and designs and colors of the leaves…the awakening of all the species of birds and their songs, singing out in their joyful glory…the hundreds of fascinating insects, each with their own purpose and plan to carry out…the beautifully created wildflowers with their own gown of radiance, standing in humbleness. I really just stood there in complete awe…and welled up in tears…🥹

We are absolutely surrounded by his intricate display of works of art. How can I not believe? ❤️

I made my annual trek to Lilacia Park in Lombard (I get there before sunrise so I had the entire park to myself)…it was quite a lovely experience. 🌷

Made my way very early one morning to Lilacia Park…and I think my jaw dropped as I began to wander. EVERYWHERE I looked were mounds of stunning spring flowers…just whispering to me to capture their beauty.

So I obliged….🤗🤭
