Quick series of a Summer Tanager as it returns to Central Texas from southern winter grounds. Males are bright red. This is the first one I've seen this year, and he was at Guadalupe River State Park northwest of San Antonio.

This Red-shouldered hawed flew into a perch 15’ from me. I got shots with my camera and then pulled out the iPhone. A biker came by as I hit record and I thought the bird would flush but it held perch.
