with that being said… I wasn’t really sure how to go about this post. honestly I’m not sure I know how now but I know it’s been on my mind and heart about making this announcement. my heart is very heavy but I’ve thought long and hard about this and sometimes you have to make the tough decision in life. at this point and time I will be closing Cheyenne Nicole Photography. possibly temporarily but I don’t know the future.

ever since I started this, I have been balancing being a mom, homeschooling, solo parenting, welcoming a 3rd child, sports schedules and life with my husband away at least 90% of the time. I have limited availability due to child care but I’ve made it work as best as I can. I honestly cannot thank all of my amazing clients for being so flexible and understanding. You are all why this is even harder for me to say.

I will miss all of you terribly, capturing your precious moments for you and watching many of your families grow. I am more than honored you welcomed me into your lives. this isn’t goodbye, as I’ll be on here from time to time.

I have thought long and hard about this and it is currently what is best for our family for a multitude of reasons. Please know it wasn’t easy since this is such a passion for me and I put my whole heart into every session with all of you.

I don’t typically post on the weekends but when you haven’t posted since June I guess it doesn’t really matter does it?! Here’s what’s been going on over here…

» we started our homeschool year back in July
» I am in Disney planning mode for our trip at the end of September
» B started competitive cheer this summer so we have two practices a week for that plus any extras and she’s loving it. She said mommy I think I found my thing and is so excited for competitions to start in December
» I’m just here trying to balance it all and solo parent most of the time

today we are off to a family day hosted by my sister’s work and tomorrow I get to meet my new little bff (my sorority little sister’s newborn ugh 🥹). Enjoy this sweet loving family session I swoon over and have an amazing weekend friends! Ü

I have been majorly MIA.
I am human.

Last week got the best of me and I needed to just put everything on pause minus being a mama and having to do all those things. I have joined a statistic I never thought I would and not because I thought I was better or not capable, it’s just not something I thought I would even though secretly that fear was always in my mind given how common but not really talked about it is. I have 3 healthy children, 3 healthy pregnancies, yet the same week I found out we were expecting that whole idea came crashing down.

Last week, I had a miscarriage. It was an extremely rough rollercoaster week but thankful my kiddos kept me busy and distracted. I grieved, cried a lot, and laughed a lot when I was being told to just rest/relax. Being a mama of 3 doesn’t really give you time to rest/relax. I had to put a pause on editing (just slowed down a bit), I was delayed in answering messages, emails, inquiries, texts, and honestly barely opened social media. I apologize for that but my mind was elsewhere and I was just drained. Again, I’m human. I don’t share any of this for sympathy or pity, just sharing a little bit of personal stuff and tell you all why I’ve been MIA a bit. I’ll get back to liking your posts and sharing photos.

For now I’m going to continue to edit this precious girl Maeve and her beautiful family. I truly cannot get enough of her smile!

Being a mother and my little family truly means everything to me. They are my purpose and why I strive to be better every day. I am no where close to being a perfect mom but I hope they know that every single day I tried for them. Motherhood is A LOT. All of parenting is. I think I can say I lost myself a bit since becoming a mom. After B, deciding not to continue pursuing teaching as a career and staying home instead. To now homeschooling and solo parenting most of the time with 3. It can be wild, it can be chaos, I struggle, but we make it and our connection is strong. Thank god for my supportive husband too! I always hear “I don’t know how you do it” and honestly sometimes I don’t know BUT I do know I have no other choice. These kiddos need me and truthfully, I need them. I couldn’t imagine life any other way. So yes it’s hard, I complain, life is messy, but I love this life with them. I hope they always know that above all else. Yes I missed posting this 2 days ago on Mother’s Day but like I said, it gets crazy here lol. Blessed my husband and I chose this life together, that he’s been my best friend since high school, and that our littles chose us to be their parents. I love being their mama 🤍

yesterday I took my oldest to my mama minis and took along my very old camera. I cannot thank my amazing clients for allowing her to share in their moments and capture them on her camera as well. the whole car ride home she would not stop talking about how it was the best day ever and how she wants to keep practicing so she can be a photographer. we got home and she immediately wanted to take a walk to practice taking photos. next she wanted to learn to edit her photos so I told her when I’m caught up on all of my galleries I am working on, we will put her photos onto my computer and check them out. if there’s anything that’s super cute or in focus I will be sure to send them your way as a special little surprise. it was the perfect little girls day with all of you 🤟🏻

well, me & my youngest taken by my oldest with direction from me. she is 6 years old and absolutely killed it! I am in love and obsessed. I hope this is how you all feel when you get photos back from me. B would also like you to know that while she took the photos, I did edit them (while she watched over my shoulder lol).
