The Vietnam War lasted from 1955-1975. Many don't realize this conflict lasted about 40. The Wall was dedicated on Veterans Day 1982 in D.C. and list over 58000 names of service members who died or went missing in action. Not all the names on the wall were from Combat Veterans but also those who were working in support. The Wall was designed by Maya Lin, the polished black granite wall is shaped like a V, with its 246 foot long sides pointing toward the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. The Healing wall is a replica of the original and displayed in Bartlesville until Sunday. Please go visit the Healing Wall and visit the portable museum.

A golden orb spider, also called the giant wood spider is easily identifiable by its long legs, brown or yellowish hue, and unique golden web.
It has 3 different names, the golden orb spider, the giant wood spider, and the banana spider.
They can be found in regions such as Africa, Asia, Australia, and the southeastern United States.
This beautiful wonder of nature shoots out golden web silk.
Its specie is the oldest surviving spiders on earth.
They have very quick abilities to escape very tense situations.
The biggest orb spider ever known was discovered in Australia and was known to be 2.7 inches in length. Females are usually bigger than males.
One very striking fact is that the female golden orb spider feeds on the male after mating (Besides they’re bigger).

Churchill Downs was a site to behold. Last week the Kentucky Derby but the place was still decorated with beautiful flowers and the grounds were immaculate. A rich history that has spanned over 150 years. One interesting thing I learned on the tour was you can only run a 3 year old horse at the Downs and the race lasts about 1.5 mins! That is a lot of preparation for a one time shot at being the Derby Champ.

National Archery Tournament Louisville Kentucky! What a blast we had. Locust Grove Middle School Outdoor Education took home the Second place honors in both 3 D and Bullseye. Kids did such a good job and were great sportsmen. Shout out the Brad Cowan, coach, for all he does for these kids. He is such a wonderful role model and instills some great life lessons.
