Cooper, Class Of 2027, Baraboo

Cooper wanted to keep his senior session pretty chill. He’s into sports, but wasn’t looking for the dramatic sports portraits. Just some relaxed photos that showed off his hobbies and the things he enjoys.

So that’s exactly what we did!

We started at the country club for some golf photos before heading downtown Baraboo for a few classic senior portraits. From there, we made our way out to his family’s property, where the fall colors were starting to show off a little. We wandered around, took advantage of the scenery, and finished things up with some archery photos.

Cooper is definitely an outdoors kind of guy. Between golf, hunting, wake surfing, snowmobiling, and playing guitar, I’d say he’s got plenty of ways to keep himself busy.

And apparently he’s successfully hunted both mountain lion and black bear.

Meanwhile, I’m just happy when I find my keys in the morning. 😂

After graduation, Cooper plans to head off to college to study engineering, although he’s still deciding where.

One thing I always enjoy about these sessions is getting to incorporate the things seniors actually love without making everything feel like a big production. Sometimes a golf course, a little downtown wandering, and an afternoon at home are all you need.

Cooper, thanks for a fun, laid-back session and for showing me around the property. I think we managed to get a little bit of everything in without making things too complicated.

Brock, Class of 2027, Reedsburg

Brock’s senior session was about as laid back as you can get. No running around to a bunch of locations, just hanging out at home and in the shop where you’ll usually find him anyway.

And honestly, that’s exactly what made it work.

We started around the property, took a few with his bow, got Max the farm dog involved, scared some cows, and somehow ended up inside a sketchy old deer stand that had basically grown its own forest. 😂

We survived.

Then we spent some time in the shop, which was probably the most fitting place to photograph Brock. He’s into mechanics, fixing his truck, hunting, hiking, and pretty much anything that keeps him outdoors or gives him something to work on.

After graduation, he’s hoping to head into the trades and possibly attend WyoTech.

His mom says he’s highly intelligent... but doesn’t want anyone to know.

Sorry, Brock. It’s on the internet now. 😂

This one wasn’t complicated, and it didn’t need to be. We wandered around, took some pictures, scared some livestock, questioned the structural integrity of a deer stand, and had some good laughs along the way.

I’d call that a successful senior session.

Brooke, Class of 2027, Baraboo

Some senior sessions are carefully planned from beginning to end.

Brooke’s was more of a, “Let’s start here and see where the evening takes us.” 😂

I’ve photographed Brooke before for choir, so it was fun getting to work with her again for her senior portraits. There weren’t a ton of must-have shots, so we picked a few locations and started the adventure.

We grabbed some ice cream at Sweets On 3rd in downtown Baraboo, wandered along the Riverwalk, and eventually made our way out to Devil’s Lake for sunset, water, and the bluffs she’d been hoping for.

Brooke was a little nervous and shy when we started. That lasted a total of 30 seconds. By the end of the session, she was comfortable enough to start roasting me. Thankfully, it was chilly out.

Brooke enjoys playing volleyball, being outside, and hanging out with friends. She is currently a TA at GLW and after graduation she’s hoping to attend UW–Stevens Point to study early childhood education.

And apparently she shares a birthday with Taylor Swift, so that’s probably worth mentioning too. 😄

Brooke, thanks for trusting me to take you on a little Baraboo adventure. From ice cream to the river to Devil’s Lake at sunset, I think we ended up with a pretty great evening.

Jack, Class Of 2027 , Baraboo

Some seniors want an elaborate session with a dozen locations and a long list of ideas. Jack just wanted to keep things chill. And honestly, that suited him perfectly. 😎

I’ve had the chance to photograph Jack quite a bit over the years, from his sports teams and games to even creating a college application video that helped him get into the school he was hoping for. It’s been pretty cool being part of a few different chapters of his journey.

This time, we kept things simple. We spent the evening talking about school, sports, and life, with plenty of laughs along the way. Of course, we made a stop at a golf course, which seemed fitting for someone planning to play college golf and pursue PGA management after graduation.

Jack is a bit of an old soul. He appreciates good food, old music, and the people around him. He’s also a natural leader who takes his faith seriously.

And, as requested, we managed to get a few smiles along with some classic senior portraits. I’d say we nailed that assignment. 😂

Jack, it’s been a pleasure photographing you over the years. From the sidelines to the golf course, it’s been fun watching you work toward what’s next.
