Hayden, Class Of 2027, Baraboo

The only thing Hayden knew for sure about his senior session? We needed to find an arcade. 🎮

Honestly... that’s a pretty good place to start.

We began downtown Baraboo, getting some classic senior portraits and exploring a little before heading to Lake Delton for a completely different side of the session. We wandered around, climbed some trees, enjoyed the outdoors, and talked about everything from gaming to what the future might look like.

Like a lot of seniors, Hayden was a little nervous when we started.

But it didn’t take long before that disappeared.

Once he relaxed and realized this wasn’t going to be a stiff, awkward “stand here and smile” kind of session, we were just hanging out with a camera along for the ride.

And eventually, we found our way to the arcade. 🎮

Hayden is into video games, working out, and reading, and after graduation he’s considering college for either video game design or welding. Two completely different directions... but I kind of love that he’s keeping his options open and figuring out what feels right.

Oh, and apparently Hayden once ate a huge pile of French fries for $100.

I have questions.

Mostly... how big was the pile? 😂

Hayden, thanks for trusting me to capture your senior portraits and for letting me tag along for the adventure. From downtown to Lake Delton, tree climbing to arcade games, I think we managed to create a session that felt pretty true to you.

Good luck with that whole “figuring out the future” thing. And if the video game design career doesn’t work out, at least we know you’ve got a promising future in competitive French fry eating. 😄

Lily, Class Of 2027, Baraboo

Sometimes the best things come from saying, “Sure, I’ll donate a session.” 😉

Lily’s senior session was actually won by her family in a raffle benefiting Baraboo Bowling—and I’m pretty glad they won it!
This family has been in front of my camera before, so getting to photograph Lily’s senior portraits was extra special.

For her session, we started out at Pewit’s Nest, soaking up the scenery and letting her enjoy one of the things she loves most: being outside.
From there, we headed back to the track to focus on another huge part of Lily’s story—track & field.
Shot put. ✔️ Discus. ✔️ Senior portraits. ✔️

And Lily isn’t just someone who happens to participate in track. She’s been to State every year of high school. That’s a pretty impressive way to spend your high school career.
Now she’s looking ahead to college and exploring opportunities to continue competing in track & field. I have a feeling there’s still quite a bit more to come.

I love when senior sessions can bring together the different pieces of someone’s life—the places they love, the things they’ve worked hard at, and the people who have supported them along the way.

Lily, thank you for letting me capture this next chapter. And to the Rogers family, thank you for continuing to trust me with your memories. It’s always pretty cool when clients come back year after year and eventually I get to photograph their senior. 🤍

Here’s to whatever comes next, Lily! I can’t wait to see where those throws take you. 🥏✨

McKenzie, Class Of 2027, Baraboo

Because apparently Wisconsin weather likes to keep us on our toes. 😂

McKenzie’s senior session was supposed to happen earlier, but after a little rescheduling thanks to our wonderfully unpredictable Wisconsin weather, we finally got the day.

And honestly, I think it was worth the wait.

We started at McKenzie’s family farm, including a stop at their little hunting cabin and a patch of sunflowers we happened to find along the way. From there, we headed to Rock Springs and Ableman Gorge for some scenery that feels a little different from your typical senior session.

We finished things up at the cross country course, adding in another important part of McKenzie’s high school story.

She’s involved in track, cross country, band, and FFA, and has a huge love for the outdoors—so building a session around places that actually mean something to her just made sense.

And here’s the part I love: after just one year in FFA, she’s already considering a future in agriculture after high school.

I think that’s pretty awesome.

McKenzie came into the planning process with one simple instruction for me:

“You are in charge.” ❤️

No pressure, right? 😅

But that’s honestly one of the things I love about these sessions. We don’t always need every location and photo planned out ahead of time. Sometimes you just start with a few ideas, explore, and see where the day takes you.

McKenzie, thanks for trusting me with your senior portraits—and for letting me take the lead. From the family farm to the trails, sunflowers, and cross country course, I think we found a little bit of everything that makes you, you.

Congratulations on your senior year! I can’t wait to see where your love for the outdoors, FFA, and agriculture takes you next. 🌻

Ellenna, Class Of 2027, Baraboo

When a budding photographer chooses you to photograph her senior portraits... yeah, that one means a little something extra. 📸

I first met Ellenna while photographing sports for Baraboo High School, so I’ve had the chance to see her behind the camera as well as in front of it. She’s developing her own style and vision as a photographer, which made it especially meaningful when she chose me to capture her senior portraits.

She knew what she liked, I knew what I liked, and somewhere in between we came up with a plan... with the understanding that we’d probably wing some of it along the way. 😂

We started near the Wisconsin River in Lake Delton, capturing some of the softer, more relaxed images she had envisioned. Then the clouds gave us a little break and we caught some beautiful sunset light in the tall grass.

From there, things got a little more “Ellenna.”

We headed down some back roads for photos with her car, made our way to the track for some shot put photos, and finished the night after the streetlights came on with—you guessed it—even more car photos.

Ellenna wanted her session to show the different sides of who she is: photographer, artist, athlete, car enthusiast, and the more feminine side of her personality. I think that’s one of the coolest things about senior portraits—you don’t have to choose just one version of yourself.

After graduation, Ellenna hopes to become a high school math teacher while continuing to explore her interest in psychology. And if I know her, she’ll probably have a camera, some art, and her car somewhere in the mix too. 😄

Ellenna, thank you for trusting me with such an important part of your senior year. Having someone who understands photography choose you to photograph their senior portraits is one of those compliments that doesn’t get taken lightly.

I hope these photos feel as much like you as the vision you brought to the session. 🤍📸

Connor, Class Of 2027, Reedsburg

Connor and his family were looking for something a little different for his senior portraits. They wanted to step outside the usual choices for Reedsburg seniors, and I’m glad they found their way to me.

Now, Connor will be the first to tell you that being in front of a camera isn’t exactly his favorite thing.

But once we got moving? He was ready to go.

We started at Lake Redstone, one of Connor’s favorite places to hang out and a pretty fitting spot for someone who loves being outdoors. From there, we wandered around downtown Reedsburg for some more urban looks before finishing up at Nishan Park with some relaxed baseball photos.

Connor is an avid hunter and fisherman, loves being outside, and apparently baseball is happening anytime there’s not snow on the ground. 😂

After high school, he’s leaning toward the trades and is looking at a future in heavy equipment operation and home construction. Basically, he’s already got a pretty good idea that sitting behind a desk all day probably isn’t for him.

The goal going into this session was simple: make sure Connor was comfortable and let the rest happen naturally.

And I think that’s exactly what we did.

No forced poses. No overthinking it. Just exploring a few of his favorite places, talking a little life, getting some laughs in, and letting him be himself.

Connor, thanks for trusting me to step outside the usual choice with you. I’m pretty sure by the end of the session you forgot the camera was even there. 😉

Congratulations on your senior year! I can’t wait to see where the next chapter takes you.

Rebecca, Class of 2027, Baraboo

I first met Rebecca while photographing swim meets and the Baraboo swim team over the last couple years, so it was pretty special getting the chance to photograph her senior portraits.

She knew she wanted a little bit of everything—bricks, water, sunsets, nature, and of course, some swim photos. So that’s exactly what we did.

We started around downtown Baraboo, hitting some of those classic brick-and-city spots before heading out to Pewit’s Nest and Devil’s Lake for the nature, trails, and water she loves so much. We chased the sunset, laughed a lot, and even attempted some paddle board yoga photos.

Let’s just blame the sun being in her eyes for why those didn’t quite work out. 😂

And then, to bring everything full circle, we finished where I first met Rebecca: at the pool.

Rebecca has spent six years swimming, five years in FFA, and even six years practicing martial arts before high school. She loves floriculture, the outdoors, trails, and sunsets—pretty much anything that gets her outside and lets her slow down and enjoy the moment.

After graduation, she’s hoping to continue that journey at UW–Eau Claire.

From swim meets to senior portraits, it’s pretty cool getting to watch these kids grow up in front of my camera. Rebecca, thank you for trusting me to capture this next chapter. And thank you for the laughs, the adventure, and for at least giving the paddle board yoga a shot. 😄

Gracie, Class of 2027, Baraboo

Sometimes a senior session takes you somewhere you’ve never photographed before. Sometimes it takes you somewhere that already feels like home to your senior.

For Gracie, that place is the Al Ringling Theater.

Her family made it very clear from the beginning that we needed to make part of her session happen there. After hearing how much of her life has been spent performing in that theater through dance and theater, I understood why.

I’ll admit it... I’d never photographed a senior there before.

So I made the call, locked it in, and we made it happen.

And honestly? I’m so glad we did.

Gracie has spent 14 years dancing at Just for Kicks, along with being heavily involved in music, choir, theater, and high school musicals. The theater isn’t just a beautiful building in her hometown—it’s part of her story.

After spending time there, we headed outside for some classic senior portraits and chased that light, bright and airy look she was hoping for.

And then there’s Gracie’s future plans. She’s hoping to major in music education and eventually become a choir teacher. Which honestly feels pretty fitting for someone who has spent so much of her life surrounded by music and performing.

Oh, and apparently there’s a future speakeasy owner in there somewhere too. 😎🎷

She mentioned she’d love to own one someday, and naturally she said we would be welcome anytime. I’m holding her to that!

A few other important facts about Gracie:

She’s seen Beyoncé in concert.
She loves crafts, especially diamond painting.
And yes, I think she has enough personality to fill an entire theater. 😄

Gracie, thank you for trusting me with such an important part of your story—and for pushing me to photograph somewhere completely new. I think the Al Ringling Theater was exactly where your senior portraits needed to be.

I can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you. 🎶✨
