First attempt at a night sky timelapse this weekend, during the tail end of the Perseid meteor shower. Focus was on the apparent rotation of the stars, but there were a few frames with meteors. If you've got quick eyes you might pick some out between the typical air traffic.

Out at Sand Beach last night, having a try at a night sky timelapse (results pending). I decided to take one last shot, this time just a vertical Milky Way, and this is the result. To the left is a meteor, and the right is a passenger jet.

So I was out shooting the fog the other night and I ran into these guys, Brian and Keagan of local band, Schrodinger's Cat. When you have the chance to shoot a local celebrity, you take the shot.

Panoramic view of the sunset, as seen from Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia National Park. The road is once again open and the drive up is as impressive as ever.

Getting my blog on. By request, I've posted a minor tutorial on "The Diver" multiframe image I made recently for local diver, Bryce. Please check it out, and share with anyone else who might be interested in the technique used.

The instructions reference Photoshop, although these methods can be used in other layer-based photo editing software. Enjoy!

The basis for a multiframe shot is a combination of multiple shots (taken in rapid sequence) to be layered and aligned in Photoshop. Thanks again to diver Bryce DiMauro HOW TO BEGIN: While shooting your subject, a tripod is recommended (although not strictly necessary, as long as you have a fairly…

In this case, the car was captured with multiple shots (20?) stitched together in post, creating the effect of a larger format camera.

This beauty is on display at the Seal Cove Auto Museum, in nearby Seal Cove, MDI, Maine. It's a 1915 FRP, manufactured by Finley Robertson Porter Company, of Port Jefferson, NY. According to the Museum, it's one of only 9 produced, and the only one known to remain.

Some shot info: captured with the Brenizer method, handheld using a 50mm at f/1.4, stitched back together in CS6.
