Deb Slocum Photography A perfect day for me is being one with nature and my camera. I spend countless hours just wandering in my own world surrounded by the beauty of it all.

My goal is to put a smile on someone's face when they look at one of my photos.

So..........I need to apologize........not for my age as there's nothing I can do about that, but for not paying more attention to my settings. Being that I need to wear reading glasses for close up but not glasses to see far away, I can't see my camera settings without the glasses, but can't take photos WITH the glasses so it's a constant back and forth ha ha ha. In the world of digital photography, cameras have a setting called ISO which determines the camera's sensitivity to light. The higher the setting, the more light the camera can utilize. In the age before digital, you could buy your film based on what speed you needed (i.e. 200 speed film, 400 speed, etc.). When your ISO is cranked up, digital photos will get what's called "noise"---it's a grainy appearance when you look at it on your device. When you don't have enough natural light (and you don't want to use a flash), your camera setting will be dependent on shutter speed/ aperture and ISO speed working together. I, unfortunately, had my ISO speed set to "auto" so as the sun was setting, my ISO was cranking (due to my high shutter speed to stop action and no flash use), thus a lot of the photos that I took ended up too "noisy" to salvage. I don't heavily edit my photos nor do I have any fancy programs that I use and once a photo is too noisy, it's very hard to save it. Take whatever photos you think you can use and I plan to be at the Brewer game on Saturday---GO RAMS!! The photos are in an album called "Rams defeat Bulldogs~5/9/22"

***Please Note***......in the world of social media, some of the photos that I upload have been cropped---some have not. What does this mean? If you order a print, depending on the size of the print, there could be things cut out of the print; i.e. body parts, etc. If you would like to order a print of yourself or your athlete, please make certain to check the photo on whatever website you use before you complete the order to make certain it's correct. I keep all of the originals before crop, so if you have any issues, please let me know and I can email you the originals or crop to a specific size (4x6, etc.) for you. If you do want to order prints, I highly suggest mpix.com. I hope that you are enjoying the photos. I tend to follow the ball, so if you didn't find a photo of yourself or your athlete this time around, I do plan on taking more photos or you can message me and let me know your number and I'll do my best to capture some moments! Happy Monday everyone :-). I'll leave you with one of my favorite photos. He was fun to watch!
