Beauty has a way of surprising us. 🌵🌼

The prickly pear doesn’t hide its thorns. They’re impossible to miss. Yet for a few short days each year, it bursts into brilliant blooms that stop you in your tracks.

There’s a quiet reminder here: difficult seasons don’t have the final word. Even in harsh places, beauty can flourish. Sometimes the most breathtaking flowers grow from the toughest landscapes.

If you’re walking through a season that feels more like thorns than blossoms, don’t lose heart. Your story isn’t finished yet.

Today, the beauty of Mt Angel Abbey seemed especially vivid—the brilliant blue sky, towering trees, fragrant roses, and the peaceful stillness that invites the soul to slow down and listen.

In a world filled with noise and hurry, places like this remind me that God is still speaking in the quiet. His faithfulness is seen in the beauty of creation, felt in moments of stillness, and experienced in His presence.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Grateful for a day of rest, reflection, and renewed perspective.

During our time on Anderson Island this past weekend, we were blessed to spot several bald eagles soaring overhead and perched among the trees.
