Bird Dog Studio π™Ώπš‘πš˜πšπš˜πšπš›πšŠπš™πš‘πš’ πšŠπš—πš π™΅πš’πš—πšŽ π™°πš›πš πš‹πš’ ? Born and raised in Roanoke, Va, I moved to Maryland to attend St.

Mary’s College of Maryland and received my BA in Studio Art in 2006. In 2008 I received a Master of Art in Digital Art followed by a Master of Fine Art in Photography and Digital Imaging in 2009, both from Maryland Institute College of Art. I am currently thrilled to be teaching Digital and Darkroom Photography, Sculpture and Jewelry at Garrison Forest School. I have previously taught at Maryland

Institute College of Art as well as Anne Arundel Community College and Howard Community College. When I am not teaching I work as a professional photographer (as well as a very unprofessional, backyard sculptor). I take inspiration for my commercial photographic work from my fine art practices as well as my appreciation for contemporary and classical fine art portraiture. I am honored to be charged with the responsibility of capturing special occasions, milestones and moments, split seconds of time worth remembering. This is a photo of a perfect family in a perfect family portrait because when you have three children living with you part time, and the messiness of your modern family is messier than normal, and somehow you find yourself in your pjs on a perfect fall morning with no one fighting or crying or bleeding or digging a hole in the yard or β€œdecorating” the house with shaving cream, or feeding the dog grapes or leaving the gate open for her to escape, and your Crohn’s disease flare up has given you the weekend off, and you realize that everyone is in a genuinely good mood and being kind to one another, and the dog is still alive, you take a picture to prove that it happened and proceed to post it on social media to tell the world that everything is fine and good and beautiful and perfect and that you love this old house and these precious people and that, henceforth, we plan on wearing pjs for all family portraits.
