This photoshoot was first planned five years ago, and then a whole bunch of Life (with a very capital "L") happened and it has taken until now to find an actual date! Main thing about today? It has conclusively proven what I've thought for years: it is impossible to take a bad picture of this talented woman.............

In spring 2009, some friends decided to throw their personal efforts into keeping opera alive in Baltimore. I offered to take pictures as my way of contributing to that event, and have watched this group grow from a true grass-roots-opera-community effort into a fixture of the Baltimore - and beyond - professional musical landscape.

Ten years later, they asked if the camera and I would join them for their production of Trial by Jury and Scalia/Ginsberg, and I was happy to oblige. Given the anniversary, I set myself a project of getting another "mirror shot" for the archive. The first one remains one of my favorite photos of all time, but I finally got that elusive infinity shot... which seems an entirely fitting metaphor. :)

Impossible to choose just one from this beautiful soprano's shoot lastweek - narrowing it down to two was hard enough! Amelia, thank you so much for persevering to find a date we could all do, and HOW.MUCH.FUN. did I have!!!! Many more shots to come - watch this space! :)
