I shot my very last wedding as a professional photographer last night, and I’m feeling a lot of emotions today.
Earlier this year, after a heart-to-heart with my endlessly supportive husband, I finally admitted to myself that I just wasn’t willing to leave my full time job. With that knowledge, I knew that I couldn’t sustain two careers simultaneously and indefinitely, and began the process of winding NSP down.
Over the last five years, I’ve shot 78 weddings, 52 engagements, 8 proposals, and countless other lifestyle, creative, and family shoots. I hold tremendous gratitude in my heart for every single client and couple who supported this business over the years and made this dream possible.
I leave this experience excited and refreshed. Im excited to have my weekends back, to not be a workaholic, and to reinvest in creative passions that are mine and mine alone. It’s definitely bittersweet, but I know I’m making the right decision for me. It feels like a when a great show decides it’s time to bow out before getting cancelled. I’m thankful to go out on a high, and on my terms.
I love you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
PS. I couldn’t be more excited to edit some sneak peeks from last night!
