Personal Branding Tip For Woman Entrepreneurs Who Offer Professional Services 👇

Pretty pictures are overrated if the imagery does not add value or move people to the next step of getting to know you in your customer journey.

When it's time to update your personal branding images, or if you have never produced a personal branding session. Do this 👇

Instead of only shooting your images inside a photography studio consider shooting one of your looks in the environment that showcases the results you provide.

I know this sounds counterintuitive but this works.

For example, my client is an urban interior designer and special events designer.

Her brand is called the Memory Maker Inc.

Her brand differentiation and results she provides is transforming spaces to be more funtional and to have feng shui.

Have you ever sat in a room and you instantly felt comfortable?

The room just flowed with energy to the point where you said to yourself, I could sit here and watch a movie, work on my laptop or do absolutely nothing. 😁

The room size does not matter as much as the layout, lighting, color pallets and furniture placement. It feels intentional.

Yes, thats the point. Producing one of your looks in that environment allows you to show your personality while showcasing results in advance.

Lastly don't be afraid to break the rules a little bit and show your personality, especially those of you who have more serious career paths.

If you are expected to be stoic, don't be afraid to show a softer or silly side in your imagery.

In my opinion this is how you get hired before they ever reach out to you.

Thats the power of intentional personal branding.

The big 50 is coming and you are not sure what to do for yourself.

Don't side eye me but I think this is the absolute perfect time to be selfish and make it all about you.

No matter whether it's a trip, a large purchase or simply saying yes to a new experience.

You deserve to say yes to you.

How did we get here?

I received an inquiry from a young lady (Sabrina) who my work on a mutual friends wall from over 10 years ago.

Not sure if you all remember when AlterEgo photography was the trend circa 2011-2012.

This is when the House Wives of Atlanta was picking up steam and photographer Derek Blanks was crushing the alter ego photography.

Sabrina shared that she looked at that image for years but never had the courage to reach out.

She said, "for my 50th, I am going all out for me" and apart of that experience is commissioning Milton Lawrence to produce a set of images that would commemorate this special 50th milestone birthday.

It's December 2024, the time is 7 hours ahead of east coast with an average temperature of 75-80 degrees outside in Capetown, SA.

I have a small espresso and a bowl of fruit sitting next to my laptop as I sit down to virtually meet Sabrina via zoom.

We are starting with a fresh canvas. During the consultation, I asked a series of questions to get to know Sabrina and to extract what was important to her.

2 days prior our consultation, I just rapped up a flying dress shoot in Camps Bay at Boulders Beach so I asked how she felt about the concept for her 50th shoot experience.

She loved the idea.

We both agreed to add it to the mood board as one of our looks.

There was something missing, we needed an epic backdrop in the Washington DC area.

I racked by brain and then I had creative moment. I remembered that the Cherry Blossoms where due to bloom around the production day.

Sabrina ask about colors, I gave her some suggestions then we went to work.

I arrived back in the US a couple weeks prior to the shoot day, went down to the Moongate Gardens for a final site survey. I absolutely fell in love with the beautiful magnolias that only blossom for about 7-10 days out of the year.

It was the perfect back drop.

I assembled a production team and we went to work.

Grateful for another Solar Return.

Thanks in advance for all of well wishes.

While I have your attention, this Birthday marks a pivot in my career as photographer.

It's been eating on my heart so I have decided to shift 90% my efforts in to teaching. More specifically teaching professional entrepreneurial women how to show more authentically through face card and full body selfies.

Because of technology, ladies can capture their own self portraits for posting , for business or to attract Bae with their smartphones.

I plan to leverage my 16 years in the industry to show my audience how to NOT be the best kept secret in niche or industry through the practice of self portraiture.

You can not stay top of mind, attract new clients nor attract love and affection if you don't show up authentically.

I plan to do this through a 5 day selfie challenge that I would like to personally to be apart of.
