What dreams does my grandmother hold beyond the ones she was told she should have?
This project began as an attempt to imagine the dreams women carry throughout their lives, even the ones that remain unspoken.
Shot and created by an all-women crew, with text and curation by
My grandmother, Linda, portrayed in image 2 ❤️
“(…) As they spoke, a pattern emerged. Their voices, soft but steady, echoed generations of women who didn’t think much about themselves. Their lives were built on service, survival, and an enduring hope that we might live differently.
In Mexico and much of Latin America, our grandmothers rarely had access to education or choice. Their paths were shaped by poverty, patriarchy, and circumstance. Yet they carried on — so that we could one day choose our futures, our bodies, our dreams.
Perhaps we are the first to ask: What do I want? And we ask this on the shoulders of women who gave so much so we could.”
Here’s to aging not just gracefully, but gloriously. 💜
