I am not interested in cutting out patterns on the laser that I get from other designers. This means I have to learn some graphic design to get the ideas out of my head and into the machine. This is my first design using the layering technique, looking to make a lot more original designs.

Over seven months ago I was injured, it has been a struggle since the injury. The woodwork that has been such a part of my life has become more and more of a struggle. My body will not tolerate the hours of chopping and carving that are required to turn out spoon after spoon. I will still make an occasional spoon and teach others, but the days of carving for hours are over, that is barring a recovery that has eluded me so far.

While the body is not willing, the drive to create still rages. I am revisiting other avenues of creativity. Cin and I purchased a laser to help cut the wood and I am trying to get up to speed on how it can fit into what I know how to make. Cin says I have enrolled in YouTube University as I study new ways to make.

So things at my little studio are changing, I will post updates as I become more comfortable with the process.
