One of my favorite things about newborn photography is that every family brings a little piece of their story into the session.

Recently, a sweet mama asked me a question that completely caught me off guard!

"Do you happen to have any potatoes?"

Now, I've been photographing babies for a while now, but that was definitely a first. The strangest question I have ever been asked during a session. I stood there for a moment trying to imagine all the possible reasons someone might need potatoes during a newborn session. Were they hungry? Surely I have something better than potatoes.....I was coming up blank. 😂

Then she explained that Dad works with potatoes, and they wanted a special photo of their brand-new little one surrounded by them.

Suddenly, it made perfect sense.

And let me tell you... it was ADORABLE.

There they were, this tiny, precious baby nestled among potatoes, and somehow it was one of the sweetest, most unique setups I've photographed. It was such a beautiful little tribute to Dad and the work that helps provide for his family.

What started as the most unexpected question of my career ended with all of us laughing together and creating a photo they'll treasure forever.

These are the moments I love most.....the quirky ideas, the personal touches, and the stories that make every baby and every family wonderfully unique.
