Another year around the sun ☀️
My daughter took this for me yesterday morning, and honestly? It might be my favorite portrait of myself this year. There’s something about letting our kids hold the camera that shows us through their eyes - usually more beautiful and less complicated than we see ourselves.
39 feels like settling into my skin. Like knowing which battles to pick (matching socks? not one of them). Like understanding that the best moments happen between the posed ones - in the giggles when the timer goes off too soon, in the squinting through golden hour, in the “mom, just one more!”
Four kids, 16 years behind the lens, countless families trusted me with their stories, and I’m still learning that being IN the frame matters too.
Here’s to another year of chasing light, freezing time, and remembering to hand over the camera sometimes. The view from their perspective? Pretty dang good.
