I think a lot more couples are craving wedding days that actually feel like them lately.

A wedding day that doesn’t feel like you’re putting on a show for everyone else.
�A day where you’re actually present enough to take it in instead of running from one thing to the next wondering where the time went.
�Something that feels intentional, relaxed, and actually reflective of your relationship instead of what you thought a wedding was supposed to look like. Just being together somewhere beautiful, taking it all in, and actually remembering how it felt.

Honestly… some of the most emotional wedding days I’ve photographed weren’t the most perfect or put together. They just felt honest and fully like the couple.

Reading your vows privately before the ceremony is one of the easiest ways to slow the day down.

It gives you space to be fully present with each other without an audience, without a timeline, and without feeling like you have to perform anything.

And then you still get to step into the rest of the day with your people, knowing you already had that time together.
It’s not about choosing between an intimate experience or including family.

You can have both, it just comes down to how the day is structured.

It’s YOUR wedding.

If you’re planning right now, remember you’re allowed to do things differently:

• Have your ceremony somewhere meaningful instead of somewhere expected �• Invite only the people who are a part of your every day life, not just those expecting an invitation�• Turn it into a weekend experience instead of a rushed schedule�• Skip traditions that don’t feel like you�• Build a day around what you two actually enjoy doing together

People get so caught up in what they think a wedding is supposed to look like that they forget the whole point of it. This day is about the two of you choosing each other and starting a life together. It doesn’t need to follow anyone else’s template.

If that means hiking out somewhere quiet and saying your vows with no one else around, do that. If it means bringing your closest people and turning it into a full weekend together, do that. If it means doing something completely different than what anyone expected, that’s okay too.
