It’s been quiet on this page, but we have had so much going on in the last few years…

In 2019, we lost our 3rd baby to a miscarriage. 2020 happened the year following and I think that speaks for itself 🤪 2021 we tried our best to recover and this year we unexpectedly got pregnant again with baby #4.

It’s been a long few years with a lot of joy ripped away, but I’m over the moon to introduce you to our newest little love, Violet Faith, with some recent photos I took of her 💜

Her entrance into the world has reminded me that there’s still joy to be had and it’s worth it to continue to pursue the things that bring it to you.

Photography is still one of those things for me and I’d love to capture your memories in the coming year ♥️

The complexities of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood never cease to inspire me with their constant push and pull of both difficulty and joy and it fuels my passion for documenting the journey through photographs... Hey friends! It’s time for an introduction post 🥰❤️

My name is Kayla Swenson and I love photography and capturing memories and moments through photographs. 📷

I’ve been married almost 8 years now to the best man in the world 🌎❤️ We have two kiddos, a 3 year old boy 👦🏻 and a 5 year old girl 👧🏼 and they constantly keep us on our toes 😜 We also have a lab/chow mix named Scout whom we love like another child haha She will be 1 in March! 🐕 Yup.. we got a puppy during lockdowns just like everyone else 🙃

I’m a foodie and I love to cook 🥘 I love art 🎨 and drawing as well. Creative expression is how my brain thrives 🧠

I am a homeschooling mama and professing Christian ✝️ My Faith is so important to me and has been crucial in getting me through the toughest moments of my life... especially my miscarriage last year at 13 weeks with our baby we named Shiloh 👼🏻 I want everyone to know how Jesus can pull you out of the darkness 💕

I’m addicted to coffee ☕️ and love stealing a bowl of ice cream 🍨 in secret late at night so I don’t have to share 😉

I found my love of photography back in high school when I took a photography class using my mom’s old manual camera 📸 That’s right! I started out developing real film in a real dark room so my knowledge of the camera and how it works is truly from the ground up!

With every photo I love to tell a story and I prefer real moments to posed ones 😉❤️

Since I had a session cancel today and was unable to fill the time slot, I took an opportunity to get some portraits of my sweet puppy tonight! Her name is Scout, but we have many affectionate names for her. Scoutlandia, Scout Lee, Scoot Scoot, Scooter, Scouty Girl... 🤣 LOL She is a ball of energy, trouble, and sweetness and we absolutely adore her... 🐕❤️
