OK. I suppose we need to get this whole public apologize out of the way or "Misty" might get a bit cranky.

So Misty had an interest life. Had her heart broke by a couple of foreigners. You see she was sent overseas to serve our Air Force in France, but then she was sold to the French. Well the French crashed her and then sold her off to the West Germans who also crashed her. She return to the service in the Air Force and made her way around the Southwest before coming to Missouri. When she retired they put her on display.

Whew! I think I skated on that one folks! (Just in case....This line of aircraft produced by North American Aviation really were the workhorses of our Air Force for many, many years. I am not a fan of the intake for a nose, but its lineage includes things like the P-51 Mustang, T-6, the F-86 Saber, B-1 as well as the Apollo command and service modules.)

I don't know folks this one just said Good Afternoon! We are officially past the half way point!!

I have decided that I'm going to have to go fly Mirror Lake again. (Surprise!) I have to come clean and be honest with you folks.....

Well. Ummm. You see, I have had the new Top Gun playing in the background at night (come on folks, the F-14 is just a drop dead sexy aircraft, first aircraft in the Navy I was trained to work on. They retired it the weekend after I graduated.....that probably says something). But anyway, this past trip out to the lake, I was listening to FFDP (if you don't know, you probably don't want to), and had "Highway to the Danger Zone" stuck in my head. Bad. Bad. Bad. combo....some times the video looks like I was dive bombing bugs.

BONUS! Another trip out to this gorgeous area!

I may find more of these along the way but I'm off to figure out what's going on with my reel......stay tuned!.....hopef...

You would be surprised what you find when you stay on the beaten path. Yesterday I arrived early (I know, that's just weird, me? early) before the sun was down in the canyon and had some time to kill.

It occurred to me, that all the pictures I saw and took just a few days ago I couldn't see. Instead I saw drone flight and shots but I was almost blind to the pictures I just saw. It was just kind of a weird moment.

But I did find this sign and will have to chase down Summer to tell her it's the Mitchell Mill.

Folks, I might have been a wee bit little boy excited to get out and fly the drone here! This is the moment of launch for the first flight, the warm up flight. The drone and I had a brief unpleasant conversation over the fact that I had just launched it some place that it couldn't even land. Look at that picture....nothing but drone killing propeller grabbers as far as the eye can see.

I think we can safely say this is probably the most demanding place I have ever flown. The clear flight corridor is measured in inches in each direction and at it's best you have about 10 feet of clear movement in only one direction. I didn't have an accidents, but every time I would get focused on the screen or the drone I was seconds away from disaster. All day long. Every flight. Every take off. Every landing. And as an added bonus, down in the canyon I couldn't even pull in a single GPS satellite which means hovering is out of the question.

IT WAS A BLAST!!!
