I’ve always felt black and white images have timelessness to them. Once color and saturation are gone….only the purity of the image remains.

This was an image I shot at a workshop several weeks ago and it was definitely a myth busting experience surrounding what is “correct” when it comes to photography. For anyone considering attending, I highly recommend his workshop.

I’ve literally shot thousands of images over the years, and I’ve been a bit guilty of not sharing them as often as I should! But I’m changing that. Over the next few months, I’ll be mixing in some gems from past shoots and sprinkling in a variety of genres—from fashion to fitness, and everything in between. Stay tuned for more. This was a golden hour shoot with Melanie who was nothing short of amazing. She is fun and vibrant and brought tons of energy to this shoot. Working with creatives like her is more like play than work!

As the warm days of summer have faded and the crisp winter air is settling in, I wanted to go back to a shoot in late Summer with Jenna, capturing some beautiful moments by the lake. There’s something so refreshing about the calm waters and golden hour light that makes everything feel so peaceful. This shoot is about celebrating strength, movement, and the beauty of nature. It’s always a pleasure to work with someone as dedicated as Jenna, and in creating some fitness vibe images! I know I’m already missing the warm weather so let’s keep moving, stay strong, and embrace the changing seasons.

Had an amazing time for this denim-themed studio session, shooting with Maddie who was an absolute Rockstar! The single large overhead umbrella really was a great setup for some amazing images. I’ve really been on a black and white vibe lately and love how these turned out.

Throwback to an unforgettable shoot with my friend Liz! We’ve had the opportunity to shoot several times over the years, and every session she brings her A-game. This day was all about playing with various high and low key style lighting. Whether we were going for bright and airy or moody and dramatic, she brought her incredible energy and talent to the studio.

This was a simple three light set up for a more high key vibe and Liz absolutely crushed it. I really like black and white edits with high key images. It’s always a joy working with someone who inspires creativity.

BTW, which crop do you prefer, boots or no boots Vs color or black and white?

I recently saw a post, from the wildly talented about her making these incredible and intricate costume pieces using a 3D printer. She is such an amazing creative! Anyway, it reminded me of a shoot we did at the Fabrication Yard where I got a ton of dope images and thought I’d reminisce with a post. I think cosplay is a phenomenal performance art, a blast to shoot and don’t know why I haven’t done more of these type of shoots! (Note to self……future 📸 project).

A little night photography with Bianca.

This shoot was a little past blue hour and a perfect evening for a photoshoot.

As I’ve begun shooting again, I find myself bouncing back and forth between my Sony A7IV and my Canon R6. There are certain things about each camera system I like better but I can’t seem to pick a favorite….maybe I just have commitment issues! 😂

So for the photogs reading this post……what’s your go to camera and lens setup (and why)?
