I sat and watched this beautifully carved pit for a few hours waiting for the sun and it’s shadows to fall into their places.
These huge features are stunning to the eye but can turn flat and dull in photos. A little patience in capturing these scenes aids in the conversion of life to a 2 dimensional space that feels like a window and not a piece of paper in a frame.

Was incredible rounding the bend and coming across this with the areas masked off like that. Theres a few structures that you can see towards the base… can you imagine waking up every morning to this?
Really dig big bright scenes with large puffy clouds cruising through casting huge shadows. Bonus points for catching this without clouds in the background for that clean surreal look.
This is on the south side of .valley.az. Such a dope area.

Photos from the hike back down on my second failed attempt to get to the top of Signal Peak in southern Arizona outside of Quartzite. The 3rd attempt got further up but still not to the top. Maybe a 4th trip out there should be planned.

A very beautiful place in the morning light.
A question to anyone scanning. So things have been going really well but I still get a frame once every other roll that just simply will not convert to a positive nicely no matter what software. This is one of them. I get a sharp scan and good smooth contrast but there’s this faint pissy or minty cast that’s very difficult to take care of in post. Comparing it to other negatives shows me similar densities in the sky and shadows and no scratches or dust to confuse the software.
