this isn’t how I imagined we would spend your 18th birthday. I imagined us on a beach for a quick girls trip w/ mom making jokes & taking selfies. living our best weekend life. we’ll go some day soon though. the older you’ve gotten the closer we become & I feel grateful for every moment we spend together. You make me laugh in a way nobody else can. I love your wild spirit (even when you’re pushing my buttons 😂). I love how creative you are & I admire how confident you are in yourself. Something I’ve never been able to grasp for myself. I’ve loved watching you become an aunt and sammys “best friend”. Really I’ve loved watching you grow up.
I wish I could hug you today. I wish we could come over & eat cake & have pizza. I wish I could dance embarrassingly in the kitchen and make you laugh.
Don’t be surprised if I show up at your work later and sing to you at a safe distance of 6ft.
