Austin Queer Weddings I'm a Q***r Wedding Photographer hoping to work more with FAMILY! I've been in the biz for 10 years, Why am I targeting the Q***r Community? I am not kidding!

I personally identify with the difficulties that come with being q***r. All weddings have drama, but I think the issues can be more complex for the GLBTQ community. Then I photographed my first Q***r wedding and it was magical! Of course one of the groom's family didn't approve, which is a bummer, BUT the maid of honor made a fabulous speech. She talked about his NEW FAMILY! She was standing up fo

r all the people in his life that love him and his BIG GAY SELF and his BIG GAY UNION. Then the whole room stood up in solidarity clapping. I was crying like a baby behind that camera. I guess some of my interest comes from my own insecurities being q***r. In my first biz, my biz partner attracted a lot of conservative people. I would find myself super paranoid about the Equality Sticker on my car. I even started wearing a wedding ring to keep people from asking me questions. I did get more comfortable working with Whitney Lee. She attracts a more liberal crew, but marriage is kinda a conservative institution. ALSO I literally came out to my 94 year old grandma this year. I know that is crazy because I am 31 years old, but I was told she couldn't handle it. Guess what?! She's 94! She could handle it! So I'm finally 100% out and want to Gay It Up!

I feel so lucky to have been invited to photograph this wedding! Nobbe is my friend and the sweetest bride in this whole gosh darn world. Even with all the cry shots included, there's really no way for me to prove to you how much love was in the room. Congrats Kathleen & Jeff! xoxoxoxox

Yawl! This event looks amazing! Coco Coquette is having makeup classes specifically for members of our community who may not feel safe going up to a typical makeup counter. And it's FREE!

Our free monthly makeup workshop for transgender, non-binary and gender-fluid babes is happening this Wednesday 3/7 from 7-9pm! We’ll be focusing on contouring and highlighting, but if there’s some other technique you’d like some help with, we’ll be available after the introductory demo to assist you on an individual basis... please bring your own brushes and any makeup you’d like to practice with, or you can take advantage of our 10% discount during the workshop, if you’d like to build your kit while you’re here! 💖 We’re looking forward to seeing you lovelies this Wednesday.
