What started with a camera, a love for creative storytelling, and a desire to elevate and celebrate the Austin Filipino-American community is getting ready for its third and final chapter. 🇵🇭✨

For two days, we’re bringing together Filipino-American artists, makers, performers, and our greater Austin community under one roof for an indoor artist and vendor market, immersive gallery, and celebration of our third magazine, TAYO NA Sa Sari-Sari Store.

Think of it as our own little sari-sari store of art, stories, creativity, and community, all rooted in kapwa and bayanihan.❤️

TAYO NA Sa Sari-Sari Store is coming to Austin Studio Tour 2026!

And in true TAYO NA fashion, we’re not simply launching a magazine. We’re making a whole experience out of it.

Love yourself so much that you keep boundaries to protect your peace of mind.

That can sometimes be as simple as:
🫸 Putting your phone in a drawer (I saw a fellow artist do this and adopted it as my own daily practice). And in that same vein, keeping your phone on a focus mode.

💤 Give yourself enough sleep. (27 and up, this note is for you. Early 20s, come back to this in a few years.)

🥄 Eat in the way that fuels your body. Not everything labeled “food” actually feeds your unique body.

Those are three ways any artist (or anyone) can give themselves the space to create and ideate. Say NO to drinking the KoolAid of trend-following and doom-scrolling until an entire decade of your life passes you by without meeting yourself.

✨Because the space you protect is where your best ideas show up✨ Take great care friends.

If there’s one thing I’m starting to embody, it’s the effortless breath that comes with accepting yourself completely.

This self confidence can only grow from strong foundations of boundaries, self-love, and daily practices of peace that are done with high priority for yourself, without rush.

And mind you, this happens quietly when you’ve made up your mind to give up the habit of mentally beating yourself up and you just let yourself be.

Personal growth doesn’t need an audience to feel real. Tears can water the steps in between without a timelapse or montage, and you can simply show the bloom if you’re called to. Because that’s usually a small but impactful milestone worth celebrating.

🗡️ A new cycle begins when you intentionally let go of what no longer serves you, making space for something brighter and more aligned with where you’re actually going.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the future lately. The ideas and habits that got me here are not necessarily the ones that will get me there. And while I may not have the words yet for exactly what I’m stepping into, what I do know is that I have a crew that will support and vibe with me all the way through it. And for that, I am deeply grateful.
