6 years ago we said I do and made a covenant to love one another for the days we have on this earth. We then packed up our cars a month later and moved to Austin. The last 6 years with you, in this city, have been more than I could have ever asked for or dreamed of. We got to grow up together, learn from each other, and try to figure out how we wanted to work as a family. Some days have been full of happiness, some loneliness, some joyful, and others where we have to pick each other’s heads up and find the joy for each other. But all of them have been beautiful with you. Thank you MJ for reminding me there is beauty in rest, strength in the quiet places, and enough grace to cover all. I love you. Happy 6 years. 📷:

Getting to watch my friends become parents has been a great joy in my life. I’m really thankful that we don’t have to do life alone and we continue to get to spur one another on as seasons change and life continues to be made new. Don’t get me wrong I love candid pictures as a photographer. Being able to capture emotions for people in an event or of how they feel about each other in a season as a family is one of the main reasons I do what I do, but I love the classics just as much. Because I am mean how can you not when your kids crack a smile like that.

There is still time to take some updated family pictures before the holiday to use for Christmas cards or just for plain fun (I promise I make it a fun time). Let me know if your interested!

Tonight my friend put the pumpkins that taste like candy corn, but better, out on the table as we started small group and I literally gasped and jumped out of the couch to grab one. She died and said Anna for all the time we have spent together I have never seen you get so excited about something. Which then started the candy corn or pumpkin debate amongst the table. Today’s a fun day for me. I spent the morning at my engineering program manager role developing my team and the program I help run. This afternoon I get to go second shoot a wedding. This morning my boss wanted to hear all about both. Thankful to work on a team that believes I can do both well and cheers me on in both.

It does not rain often for hours upon end in Austin, Tx. At least not like Alabama, where I grew up.
