I’ve always been the family historian, sorting through boxes of old photos and converting analog tapes to digital. Something I’ve noticed is that my favorite photos and home videos aren’t the special occasions and milestones, even though those are the times we think to pull out the camera the most. It’s usually the ones taken in spaces that were so common to our childhood that make you wish you could have breakfast again at the old marked up table that your parents talked about replacing for years, or with dad in his funky patterned sweatshirt he wore on repeat and was so him until you realize you haven’t seen it in years.
Now that my sister has her own family I asked if I could take a few photos in her home that didn’t necessarily feel like a perfectly curated photoshoot but more felt genuine to this stage of life. So this is your reminder to also document even the normal everyday parts of your life 🏡💛
