The baby months are just that… months. They absolutely fly (while simultaneously crawling, at times). Such a strange paradox. These sessions will always be my favorite… a little snapshot of a fleeting time. You blink, and you might miss it. ❤️

I love fall and all, but spring will always be my first and best love. I miss my zinnias, I miss rain and heavy, humid mornings, I miss my wild lantana, and tall ryegrass swaying in a breeze.

Documentary style family sessions at home… what do you think? These summer sessions were some of my favorite things I’ve ever done, and I don’t think they need to be limited to summer. How could we give these a fall or winter twist? Just you and your family and your children, with things to do and a little fly on the wall (me!) to lightly direct and capture it. Swing sets and s’mores and hammock cuddles under a plaid blanket… playing chase with the dogs, steaming apple cider or cocoa, carving a pumpkin or jumping in a leaf pile. The perfectly posed family photo is great for the holiday card (and we’ll get that too!), but let me know if you have an upcoming shoot and want to make it documentary style. Or book one for winter! The possibilities are endless, and I am aching to create this way. 💛💛💛

41 years for these love birds. 💛 It’s been an honor to get to know our backyard neighbors, and to get a glimpse at a relationship that stands the test of time, children, LIFE. We shot on the property where they’ve lived for decades and raised their boys, and the light and grass and trees + these two painted into the backdrop were just so beautiful. Here’s a handful of my favorites!
