As a preschool photographer, I get asked if we use tripods for photographing children. While I have seen many people do this, we do not. I like the freedom at the drop of a dime to change my perspective and friends let me tell you… perspective is EVERYTHING!!! Well… that composition and lighting! But you get what I’m saying! Check out some of these shots, that are totally different perspectives…. We literally are bouncing around from standing, laying on our bellies, sitting on our knees and rolling in a mechanics chair!!! Perspective can totally change the feel of an image.

Can we just take a moment for this little garden dream?

Giggles in the garden is such an enchanting set. It photographs so well and maybe it’s the little girl screaming in my soul but I get The Secret Garden vibes. And I am 100 percent here for it!

Storybook magic came to life Instead of cheesy backdrops, we create textured, interactive spaces where children can explore, play, and truly be themselves.

Because the magic isn’t just in the set… it’s in the way they light up inside it. 💛

Just wrapped up the sweetest photo day at Creative Learning Center Preschool in Manor and my heart is FULL.

The giggles, the tiny personalities, the adorable serious faces. I truly have the best job. Thank you for trusting me with your little ones and letting me turn picture day into play day.

Let’s talk about posing! Posing children can sometimes be difficult. We definitely make sure to capture those sweet candid moments, but being in front of the camera can be a little scary and our bodies tend to tense up. Occasionally they may need a little help. Help relaxing and feeling comfortable, Help interacting and having fun, and Help with where to put their hands (some adults even struggle with this!) We promise to do our best with getting your children comfortable and having FUN, but let’s admit, the lights, the camera itself (kids are often used to cell phones not so much the big digital cameras), the attention and everyone watching. It can all be a little overwhelming. One of my BIGGEST tricks is distraction… how can I distract that particular child? How can I turn this into something fun FOR THEM specifically and trust me every child is different. ♥️

To say I feel blessed is an understatement. Owning Spoiled Rotten Photography, has been one of the best things I have done. The friends and the connections I have made are relationships that I will value and cherish for a life time. To be so fortunate to go into these preschools season after season, see these beautiful souls grow and thrive are not something I take lightly. Thank you families for the honor of photographing your children. Having not only a business but a career that you love whole heartedly is absolutely one secret to life! ♥️
