They say “build it and they will come,” but the secret is who you build it with!

Documenting A Table for Women Who Build (hosted by .heartbeat and ) felt less like “work” and more like a soul-recharge. Being the photographer & videographer for this gathering at meant I got a front-row seat to the power of community.

The air was just… different. It was thick with collaboration and pure joy. It’s easy to get lost in the grind of being a creative, but seeing these women connect reminded me why I love capturing stories in the first place. Austin is lucky to have this kind of energy!

Women’s events have been central to my healing over the last couple of years. Being able to bond with women who are open to listening and sharing their own experiences and struggles is the most amazing feeling! It’s like magic.

This is why I love photographing small events like the one .womencircles throws. In just a short amount of time, Carolyn is able to take strangers and turn them into sisters who are willing to offer their support and love in whatever way they can offer.

Events like this are important in a world that seems to be more disconnected despite all the technology that tries to connect us.

A good photographer captures photos that are correctly exposed, well-composed, and fabulously posed (yes, I did just come up with that *pats back*).

But a great photographer makes a photo feel like something. They help create intrigue, drawing the viewer in closer so they think ‘hmmm…what’s the story behind this portrait?’ A great photographer is an artist.

That’s always my goal- to be a great photographer, an artist. Whether I’m capturing personal branding portraits, event photos, commercial shoots- and everything in between, I want to create art by capturing the beauty of humans and the human experience.

Well, hello there! I’ve been quiet around here, and for good reason. It’s called motherhood and I’m knee deep in this 💩.

But, also- I’ve been busy photographing everything under the sun: weddings, events, branding, headshots, filming content AND being a BTS photographer on a film set (that’s right, I’m making moves this year).

Of course, you haven’t seen one bit of my recent work because I’m focusing on client work and my kids. Lately I’ve been in my editing cave in my office and I’m ready to come out 🤪 but I barely even have time to shower 😷 let alone post on Instagram. However, I’m going to share some of it because I am so excited about my recent clients!

And that rebrand? Yeah- that’s still in the works but obvs it’s a little delayed. Priorities!

But I wanna know, what’s going on in your world? What has you just totally stoked to share?
