Friends 🤍 here’s the honest truth about how I built my success in this business—because it wasn’t overnight, and it definitely wasn’t perfect.

1. I built real relationships (not just a client list).
The Wedding industry in general is built on trust and trust comes from genuine connection. I’ve built friendships everywhere I’ve gone and prioritized that over accumulating new clients every single time. My friendships more often than not have turned into working relationships or at the very least referrals because of trust!

2. I tried, failed, learned… and kept going.
I’ve had awkward posing moments. Editing spirals. Timeline stress. Lighting mistakes.
But I kept showing up. I practiced, I failed forward, and I YouTubed what I didn’t know until it clicked. That repetition is what sharpened my confidence and my consistency—especially for high-end wedding days where every detail matters.

3. I ask for what I want. I was never afraid to put myself out there and collaborate with vendors and real people to experiment and do creative shoots that either did or didn’t amount to monetized clients. When an idea struck I followed through with the vision and in creatively dry seasons I sharpened business tools.

4. My supportive husband has been my backbone.
Behind my portfolio is a whole lot of unseen support—late nights, busy weekends, and someone reminding me I’m capable even when I’m tired. I truly wouldn’t be here without him.

I was recently passed over for a wedding I was genuinely excited about. It happens—for many reasons: budget, style, timing. Still, it can sting.

That moment reminded me to pause, reflect, and be grateful for what I’ve built—and to acknowledge areas where my mindset still has room to grow. Growth isn’t always about doing more; sometimes it’s about doing better.

This post is less for visibility and more for accountability. Something I can look back on at the end of the year and be proud of.

Above all else, my relationship with God comes first. From that foundation, I’m being far more intentional with my time—because my peace, creativity, and productivity all flow from there.

To start, I’m setting clear working hours. I’ll be responding to emails and business communications between 9–5 moving forward.
