‘These Streets Here’

Happy Friday! I got in a little urban photography after an appointment this afternoon.. it felt great to shoot for myself, and a nice way to end a busy week!

What’s everyone up to this weekend? I plan to edit photos, and enjoy time with my family (there may be a nap somewhere in there too 😉)

I got to spend time with my dear friend and her beautiful growing family shortly after they welcomed their second son last week. It is such a tremendous joy to see my friend be a mother a second time over. I also experienced a wistful tug at my insides as they ‘muscle memoried’ the heart gymnastics which accompany a family expanding - stretching and breaking and growing - to make room for the new and unknown and lovely and forever different. All part of this motherhood experience.. which I can’t put words fully to.. for its ups and downs and tears and laughter and sacrifice and wonder and GIFT.

To the mamas, those who love as or long to be mothers, and the mothers we hold in memory, miss, and love.. Happy Mother’s Day ❤️
