Pay is $500.
Grandma (55-80) - Sweet, kind, grandmotherly. She has faithfully loved and supported her husband since they were teenagers, and has dreamed of retiring together one day. However, she is concerned to discover that they may not have been as prepared for retirement as they needed to be. This is a speaking role which will be shot in one day. Pay is $500.
Grandchild #1 (3-6). Sweet, happy grandchild needed for just one scene. May or may not have a speaking part. Pay is $100.
Grandchild #2 (3-6). Sweet, happy grandchild needed for just one scene. May or may not have a speaking part. Pay is $100.
The only way to audition for the roles of Grandpa and Grandma is through VIDEO AUDITION. Submissions do not need to be professionally produced. A cell phone or we**am is fine. Just make sure that you are sufficiently lit so that our producers can see your facial expressions. Grandchildren do not need to submit an audition video. A headshot will be sufficient.
Upload your video, and send a link (or, if submitting for the grandchildren, send headshots) to [email protected].
DEADLINE for submissions is October 1st, and we will shoot in early-mid October in the Fort Wayne, IN area.
Use the script below for your video auditions. We look forward to hearing from you!
VIDEO SUBMISSION SCRIPT:
ROGER and EDNA sit at the dining room table, looking through their financial papers. Concerned.
EDNA - This is not what retirement was supposed to be like. We worked to hard to live like this. Why didn’t we invest more wisely?
ROGER - We did invest wisely, dear. As wisely as we knew how. No one expected the stock market to crash the way it did.
Edna shuffles through some papers, and shakes her head.
EDNA - Well, it did. And now we can’t make ends meet. What are we going to do? Do I need to get a job? Marie said that she could probably get me a position as a greeter, or at the samples table. It doesn’t pay much, but it’ll help.
ROGER - No. We are retired. We’ve been waiting our entire lives for this season. You’re not going back to work. We have plans. We’re supposed to be traveling.
EDNA - I hate to break it to you, sweetie. But we’re not going anywhere unless our situation changes.
ROGER - OK. Let’s make a plan. What are our options?
