Photographing events is always fun. It affords a photography to often capture people in their happiest of moments. These pictures are from a cookout on August 9, 2025 where alumni members of the Troy University Sound of the South Marching Band cooked hamburgers and hotdogs along with the traditional fixings for the current band members.

While waiting on a prom shoot who was over a hour late arriving, I had an impromptu shoot with four Auburn University students attending a formal at Keisel Park. The results were stunning and the models received an unexpected gift compliments of J3 Imaging.

One of my favorite muses is the Sand Island Light at the mouth of Mobile Bay. I am always trying to capture her many moods. I took my band to Fort Morgan today before out football game in Gulf Shores. This was a hand held shot from the wall of the fort. For perspective, this shot was taken from as distance of approximately three miles on a pretty dreary day.

I got a new camera over the weekend. It is a Canon EOS R3. It is definitely the nicest and most advanced camera I have ever owned. I can say I am pretty pleased with the first photo I took with it after spending some time familiarizing myself with its settings and features. Marcia Gerrald Hillsman is always a great subject and my favorite muse. (Muse: One who is a source of artistic inspiration.)
