People see “$550 photoshoot” and think photographers pocket $550 dollars. 🤯

Here’s a realistic breakdown of where that actually goes 👇

Client pays: $550

• Put away 25% for taxes
$550 → $412.50

• Payment processing / transaction fee
$412.50 → $395.55

• SD cards (1–2 cards for a session, average cost)
~$65–$130
$395.55 → $330.55–$265.55

• Monthly business expenses split across sessions
(storage, gallery delivery, website, subscriptions, editing software, etc.)
~$50
$330.55–$265.55 → $280.55–$215.55

• Gas + travel to and from session
~$20–$40+ depending on location
$280.55–$215.55 → $260.55–$175.55

And that’s before:

• equipment upgrades/repairs 🛠

Happy Thursday Almost Friday Folks!!!

I wanted to get on here to give everyone a friendly reminder about inquiries!

I have a TON of inquires for sessions in the past couple of weeks and I wanted to remind everyone that you are not booked until your contract is signed and retainer fee is received! Me sending the link to book does not guarantee you that day. Please please please, if you want to book that session, BOOK IT RIGHT THEN—bc I PROMISE when you reach back out 99% of the time, it’s going to be booked already by someone else. An inquiry doesn’t hold a date or spot for your session! I do not want anyone missing out on any photo sessions they may need and once I’m booked, I’m booked! As much as I would love to be able to cram here and there I have a kid who plays baseball and a family that I need to spend time with as well!!!

Just wanted to throw this out there to say, please don’t wait. Don’t assume the date you inquire about will still be available!

CALENDAR UPDATE: I am fully booked weekends until AUGUST. And I only have 1 weekday date left in May. July week day dates are almost completely full as well.

Also, I send multiple reminders for our session together is email. If remaining balances aren’t paid when due, I immediately move to my waiting list. So please pay attention to when yours is due! Thank you!!
