You & your love are the reason.

With the first wedding of my season this week, I am focused on preparing my gear, my body & my team. I am also focused on preparing my heart. At the core of a wedding, it is the two people who have chosen to join their lives together in the presence of their loved ones. As a photographer, my job is to be a team player, as there are a number of important things to document. Still, my main focus is on my couple. Their desires, their priorities, their feelings: I move throughout the day with that at the forefront of my mind. Their day is not about me. I am invited into this space with them to support, to guide & to create. May we never forget why we do this work.

I shot my first wedding in 2018. My mother voluntold me (IYKYK) & the rest is history. Today marks 5 years of being a legal business, of betting on myself & leaning into something I only ever saw as a hobby. Here’s what I’ve learned about myself & how it helps my clients:

My energy & empathy allows me to be in tune to you as a person. Being client-focused means I prioritize your happiness. Being detail-oriented means I’m noticing the little things, not skipping a beat. My confidence allows me to handle any situation. My relatability helps us connect so that I GET you.

I didn’t get here overnight. I made mistakes & learned from them. I sought guidance from family, my best friend & my husband. I practiced & pushed myself, investing in mentorships & classes. I asked God to put me in the right places with the right people to serve. People continually trust me to create for them, & that is something I won’t take for granted. Here’s to more learning, more life & more love ✨

It actually doesn’t matter if your wedding is timeless.

Somewhere along the way, it was decided that all white with greenery makes your wedding “timeless”. Too often couples let this idea restrict them from choosing what they actually like, opting for something safe & neutral. Please understand that there will always be details that will let someone know when your wedding occurred. Instead of stressing about whether the white napkins match the white linens, allow your planning & design team to create something unique for you. Anyone can copy an idea they see on Pinterest. It takes a true professional to listen, create & execute the designs you see, just like in these photos.

Timing + teamwork are integral to a successful wedding day.

For this first look, I was able to scout locations with the groom while the bride was finishing up with Megan. The beauty team made sure she looked great and the planning team’s timeline kept us on pace. The sun and wind were supporting roles, giving these film photos the extra flair they needed. Ultimately, this couple was able to have their private moment with a stunning view in peace. Every decision and action was taken with their desires being the main priority.

Hello February ✨

This month’s focus is preparation, particularly for my spring and early summer weddings. From my gear to my body, all around maintenance is key. My clients and vendor partner have the expectation is that I show up ready for the day. That means making sure I have the proper tools, attire and mindset to provide them with my BEST.

Excited to celebrate this wonderful couple with in the spring!

God bless these 30-somethings ✨

Another year around the sun & I’m grateful. Teenage me wouldn’t believe all the lives I’ve lived, all the things accomplished, all the obstacles & all the triumphs. I am so happy I didn’t give up on me. Here’s to another year of asking God to guide me to everywhere I’m supposed to be.

The details make a difference.

Contrary to popular belief, many people do remember the details from a wedding. Why? Because they were impactful in different ways. A comfortable chair, a floral arrangement that was beautiful without blocking, the texture of a napkin if it has to touch your lips, the way it feels to sip a drink from a thin stemmed glass. Details don’t always mean the most extravagant or the loudest. They can be simple and still enhance your overall experience.

Do you need signage at your wedding?

touched on this recently. You don’t “need” signage necessarily but it can be beneficial for some things. This bar signage served a dual purpose: decor & information. The color is eye catching & it also informs guests of their beverage options. The same goes for the sign letting guests know the watercolor paintings would provide their seating details. Like many things for a wedding, signage isn’t a necessity but when done well, it can be impactful.

Imagine this room filled with your favorite people. From your family to your close knit group of friends from grad school, they have all gathered for one reason: to celebrate you. When you imagined this day, who do you see in the seats? Which smiling faces meet you gaze when you look out from your table? Those are the people you invite to your wedding: the ones you can’t picture the day without.

Everyone loves a guest experience that engages the senses. decided that everyone could use a little boost through taste & smell to keep their energy up. A private entrance was opened to allow guests into the library for a treat: coffee! As we made our way through the rows of bookshelves, the rich scent of dark roast filled the air. From espresso martinis & lattes, to chai & hot chocolate, there was something for everyone. There was the option not only to customize your flavor but to add a photo on top of a beverage. This was the perfect way to round out the evening.

Your wedding day moves fast. Honestly, it might move faster than everyone tells you it will. This is why it’s important to carve out space for quiet moments, like a private last dance.

In this moment, you don’t have to be the host, a centerpiece or the life of the party. You get to be a newlywed couple, soaking up the last few minutes of your wedding day.
