Her work currently hangs in the executive offices at the State Capitol as part of the Art of Georgia exhibit. Pictures are more powerful than words. When we look at a photograph, we focus on what we see, think or feel, and ... we may even ask, "why?" My images are a reflection of the world around me. My camera captures images of curiosity, self-expression, relationships, chances, beginnings, and most important--images that tell stories. My choice of subject comes from a place of intuition, and is fuelled by an impetuous desire to partake in the stories that unfold around me. I seek the unknown. I look for the light within the shadows, the stories that are not at first obvious, and the uncommon in the common.

I can't believe it has already been a week since I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful cocktail party honoring Dr. Bjørn Kunoy, Head Representative of the Faroe Islands to the U.S.A, during his visit to Georgia. The event took place aboard the stunning Scintilla Maris Yacht, providing a perfect backdrop for an evening of meaningful conversations and connections. My sincerest appreciation goes to Christopher Smith, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark, for the invitation. It was an experience I will cherish! Erik Vonk, the Scintilla Maris is STUNNING!!!

I absolutely love what I do, especially when it involves documenting legacies that inspire and uplift. Last week, I had the distinct honor of photographing the 2026 Georgia Nurses Foundation Induction Ceremony to the Georgia Nurses Hall of Fame. This event was a remarkable gathering that celebrated the unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise of nurses who have made significant contributions to the healthcare field.
The ceremony shone a spotlight on the incredible achievements of these healthcare heroes, acknowledging their tireless efforts and the profound impact they have had on countless lives. It was truly heartwarming to witness such well-deserved recognition for all that these individuals have done and continue to do in their careers.
Congratulations to the inductees for their extraordinary service and commitment to excellence. Your work not only upholds the highest standards of nursing but also sets a shining example for future generations. Thank you for all that you do to better our communities and improve the lives of others. A very special thank you to Georgia Nurses Association for selecting me to document the evening.

On Thursday, February 26th, the Georgia Nurses Foundation inducted the 2026 cohort of the Georgia Nursing Hall of Fame™ at the Estate in Atlanta.

The 10 inductees are registered nurses from across the state that excelled and made a mark in the profession and their patients with their outstanding dedication to care and the nursing practice.

Present were past inductees, friends, family, and colleagues, encompassing Georgia’s nursing elite. They loved the venue, the food, and the format.

Congratulations to Dan Owens, CEO, Upson Regional Medical Center, who has been elected as an At-Large Delegate to the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Regional Policy Board 4 (RPB 4). As an At-Large Delegate, he will contribute to national discussions by offering broad, cross-regional insight into the challenges facing hospitals and health care delivery.

In addition, he was officially sworn in to the Southern Crescent Technical College Board of Directors on January 22. The ceremony was led by Judge Kay Perdue. Dan continues to represent Upson County with dedication, service, and commitment to advancing education and workforce development for the region.

"Embracing the Journey Ahead"

On this 11th day of January, as I sipped my morning coffee and counted my blessings, I thought about the following photograph that I made in December.

In this tender moment, a family of four strides confidently into the future, hand in hand. The mom and dad, flanked by their two-year-old twin sons, embody the essence of togetherness and hope. With each step they take, they are not only walking towards the horizon, but also towards a future filled with endless possibilities and dreams yet to be realized.

As we gaze upon this image, let it remind us that the journey ahead, much like the path this family treads, is best traveled with love, unity, and the unwavering support of those we hold dear. Here's to a year of new beginnings, shared adventures, and cherished memories. May 2026 bring us all closer to our dreams and to each other.
