Cameron Kirkland, also known as “Cam Kirk”, has been impacting music through his creativity behind the scenes and behind the camera. The recent college alum was born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and moved to Atlanta, GA in 2007 as a Freshman at the prestigious Morehouse College. Cam Kirk has produced work for Young Jeezy, T.I., Bun B, Outkast, Schoolboy Q, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Metro Boomin, Rae Sremmurd, 2 Chainz, Future, Gucci Mane, Young Thug and many more. Known for his candid and raw style of photography, Cam Kirk’s work has been recognized and published in Rolling Stone Magazine, Vice Magazine, Fader Magazine, Complex Magazine, XXL Magazine, ESPN, Pitchfork, New York Times and more. We were all told the same thing growing up. Never talk about politics, finances, or religion in public.

But I’ve been sitting with why. Because that silence left a lot of us uninformed about the things that control our lives the most: our money and our politics.

So in the new piece I’m doing the thing we were told never to do. Talking about my money out loud, the financial bet I got wrong after COVID, and why getting informed about your ballot is just another way of refusing to shrink.

Maybe you weren’t wrong. Maybe you were just early.

I’ve been thinking a lot about timing lately and how many things in my life I once considered failures or closed doors eventually came back around in ways I could’ve never predicted.

The older I get, the more I realize none of it was wasted. The jobs, the relationships, the failed ideas, the pivots… every lap gave me something I needed for the next one.

Sometimes the answer isn’t “no.”

It’s just “not yet.”

Same night. Completely different scene. 📸

After shooting the first look with DDG inside the mansion, we took everything outside for the second Blame The Chat 2 album cover setup.

This time we hit the pool and let the mansion, the lights, and the Atlanta night become part of the shot. Two completely different approaches to the same cover, all created in real time while the stream was still going.

DDG called. I pulled up with the camera. 📸🔥

DDG challenged himself to create an entire album from scratch during , and somewhere in the middle of all that madness I got the call to pull up to the mansion and shoot the cover for Blame The Chat 2 live on stream.

For the first look, we kept it inside the Hit-A-Thon mansion and took over the living room. No weeks of planning or overthinking it. Just showing up, trusting the ideas, and creating something in real time.
