It’s a special privilege to be in a birth space! To be trusted to not only support but to document the moment your baby comes earthside is humbling. It hits extra hard when it’s a black mother who fought to have the birth she desired, despite every roadblock and stumbling block! She did that!!
This week is Black birthers are dying at a 4x’s higher rate than their white counterparts, and it’s because of racism. We have to fight to get the care we deserve and it can literally kill us if we aren’t advocated and protected
My goal as a midwife and birth photographer is to always be support that is so needed and the celebrator of the joyous moments made! If no one has told you today You, black girl are magic!!
