There will never be another Dolly. She came from very little, became larger than life, but never forgot the people who had little. She could have simply enjoyed everything her enormous talent and amazing career brought her. Instead she spent her life giving back.

Books to children. Money to families who lost everything. Support for hospitals, education and medical research. She used what she had to make life a little better for someone else.

I hope that part of her legacy lives on through her estate. Because as legendary as her talent was, her caring heart may have been even bigger.

One of my biggest regrets as a concert photographer will always be that I never had the chance to photograph Dolly. I never even got to see her perform live. I always hoped there would be an opportunity.

Lainey Wilson may have been opening for Chris Stapleton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Friday night, but judging by the people I met along the rail, a whole lot of that crowd was there for her. And she absolutely delivered for them.

She sounded great, looked beautiful and brought a high-energy performance that filled the stadium.

One of my favorite parts was seeing the little girls lined up along the rail, many of them at their very first concert, there specifically to see Lainey. Pretty cool to watch a new generation of music fans making their first concert memories.

There’s a reason she’s become one of country music’s biggest stars and it shows.

People came from all over the country to see this show. I met people from Michigan, Florida, North and South Carolina, and Illinois last night—and by the time Chris hit the stage, that stadium was packed.

There’s something pretty incredible about seeing that many people fill a stadium for a guy who doesn’t need theatrics to command a stage. Just the songs, that voice, and the music.

I loved his stage setup, too. Somehow they managed to make a massive stadium still feel intimate and that’s not easy to do.

It was a great night for live music in Atlanta last night. 💃
