Join us Friday, June 5th for the opening night of Shaun Matos’s exhibit, “Between Visits”.
Shaun Matos is a photographer/filmmaker whose work focuses on portraiture, street photography, and documenting the cultures and communities around me. This series is a personal record of Saint Croix, his hometown, a place he rarely gets to return to, but feels deeply connected to. Each photograph was made during brief visits between 2020 and 2025, moments where time feels compressed and every image becomes a way of holding on. Moving through familiar streets, coastlines, and quiet in-between spaces, Shaun photographs with urgency and care, trying to preserve what feels both constant and changing. These images are less about documentation and more about connection: a way of staying close to home, even in absence.
