When Harley and Sean told me that they wanted their engagement photos to be somewhere with a different feel from their upcoming fall wedding in North Georgia… I knew just the place. I have wanted to capture a love story at Berry College’s Ford Buildings for years now, as it was the setting where my parents met and fell in love back in their college years. So I was thrilled when these two were as excited about this place as I was. They even had a brilliant idea to shake the pre-session camera nerves: they got drinks and appetizers at a local restaurant beforehand! This romantic engagement session was truly a joy to photograph, and I loved using the unique architecture to add drama and an editorial vibe to their photos.

Some sweet sneak peeks from Lucy and Matthew’s backyard forest wedding in Dahlonega, Georgia. These two got married at their home, surrounded by their closest friends and family members. Their decorations were curated, thrifted, handmade, and sustainable, which was a reflection of this couples personal values, and made the entire day feel deeply personal. The ceremony itself took place in front of a wedding arch constructed from a naturally bowed over and arched tree on their property, which Lucy decorated herself with flowers, vines, and ribbons. The confetti thrown was dried flowers, and Lucy’s bouquet contained branches from a tree that was planted by her parents the day she was born. It was such an emotional and intentional day that I will never forget, and I am so grateful that I was able to take part in it.

Lucy and Matthew led us to the creek where they camped together for the first time when they were only eighteen. We spent the evening making magic: skipping rocks, chasing the light, keeping an eye out for crawdads, and reveling in the icy chill of the water. My sweet couples almost always warn me that they are “awkward” in front of the camera, and every time I assure them not to worry because everyone says that. And sure enough, these two were anything but awkward: they were effortless together.

The Kennedys are becoming a family of three!!! And of course, I couldn’t wait another minute to share some sneak peeks from Abby and Zach’s flower field maternity session at The Daffodil Farm from this past weekend. This session was the culmination of so much planning and rescheduling due to weather… but it all paid off! There is nothing that gives me greater joy than to walk with my couples through every phase of their story. We are all so excited for little baby P to be here so soon!
