No crazy Wildlife or flower shot this week, instead it is a shot from Acadia two years ago at sunset. I stopped at this spot because when I looked at the rocky coast line I saw a dog in the mess of huge boulders. The shot ultimately came together with a really nice depth of field and great rainbow sunset backdrop. Shot with Canon 70D, Tamron 18-270, Promaster GHX CP filter, Peak Design accessories.

This is also a belated Mother’s Day post to say thank you to my mom for fostering my love of photography and nature.

Black Swallowtail caterpillar making its way around the garden looking for a snack. I love this shot Becuase in the sea of greens, the black and yellow markings are so strikingly different.

The Buck moon from July of 2023 rising over the ocean, pushing through the clouds to make itself visible. I remember having a lot of fun this night trying to play with the cloud cover to see what I could produce. I really like the first image where the moon is still rising through the clouds, making it look like a mountain range.

More importantly it’s been too long, far too long. Between my full time job, getting married, the dogs, and family… life has been busy to say the least. I’ve been itching to get back behind the lens, and to post some of the shots that I got all of the way back in the summer of 2023. This is just the start of the backlog with plenty more to come over the next several weeks and months.

Ruby throated hummingbird amongst the bee balm, one of dozens of shots from a year ago. I can’t wait to post more of them! Reminding myself lately that I need to pick the camera up more frequently. Shot with Canon 70D, Tamron 150-600, Promaster filter, Peak Design accessories.
