Their Atlanta engagement session felt effortlessly romantic, polished, and completely them. Engagement photos are such a sweet chapter of the experience, a chance to slow down together before the wedding plans turn into the wedding day itself.

Some photographs ask for color. These asked for black and white.

There’s an elegance to stripping an image back to light, expression, movement, and texture. These are a few favorites from Ally + Anthony’s wedding day at The 62 in Madison, Georgia.

The smallest pieces of a wedding day often end up being some of the most lasting. A glance, a hand reaching in, the way fabric moves, the softness of a room before everything begins. Those are the photographs that give a gallery depth and make the full story feel complete.

One last Wedding Tip Wednesday. 🤍

If there’s one thing I hope this series has shown, it’s that a beautifully paced wedding day usually begins long before the morning itself. Thoughtful planning, clear expectations, and a vendor team you trust can make the entire experience feel more seamless from start to finish.

From your timeline and family portraits to the smaller decisions that shape the flow of the day, intention matters. The goal is never to over-plan every second. It’s to create enough structure that you can be fully present for the parts you’ll actually want to remember.

Sunshine, sentimental details, and a wedding day that felt completely full of love. 🤍

Ashlynn and Jeremy’s wedding at McGarity House was one of those beautiful Georgia wedding days where every detail felt thoughtful, but one of my favorites was their take on the Pennsylvania wedding cookie table tradition.

Instead of simply setting out desserts, their guests were able to fill a box with their favorite cookie selections to enjoy throughout the evening or take home with them. Such a sweet way to incorporate a family tradition into their celebration and give everyone a little piece of the day to bring home.

From the sunshine to the people surrounding them, Ashlynn and Jeremy’s McGarity House wedding was joyful, romantic, and filled with so much love from beginning to end.

Wedding Tip Wednesday No. 4: want a packed dance floor and reception photos that actually feel full of energy? Your DJ is only part of the equation. 🤍

One thing I notice over and over as a Georgia wedding photographer is how much the couple sets the tone for the reception.

When the bride and groom are out dancing, laughing, pulling friends onto the floor and genuinely enjoying the night, guests usually follow their lead. You do not have to stay on the dance floor the entire reception, but your energy plays a huge part in creating the kind of wedding reception that feels lively, effortless and fun.

It also makes such a difference in your wedding photos.

A packed dance floor gives you candid reception photos filled with movement, personality and the people you love actually celebrating with you. Those are often some of the most fun images in the final wedding gallery.

So if a high-energy reception is part of your wedding vision, plan to be part of the party too.

Before the ceremony begins, there are a few things worth protecting just as much as the timeline.

Eat something. Use the bathroom before the dress goes on. Give yourself a little breathing room. Step away from the notifications. Let the final minutes before the ceremony feel considered instead of crowded.

They sound like small things, but they can completely change the way that part of the day unfolds.

As a wedding photographer, I’m thinking about more than where you’re standing or what the light is doing. I’m paying attention to the pace of the room, what you may need next, when a little direction would help, and when it’s better to simply let the moment happen.

That balance is a big part of the experience I want my couples to have: refined, intentional photographs and a wedding day that never feels like it was built around taking them.

A little rain was never going to stop Brice and Sarakate. 🤍

These two fully embraced the weather during their session at the Athens Botanical Gardens, and honestly, the rain only added to it. Between the lush greenery, vibrant florals, and all of that rich summer color, the entire setting felt romantic, playful, and full of life.

Brice and Sarakate were so sweet together from start to finish. Their smiles, their chemistry, and the way they naturally interact made every frame feel effortless.

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens is such a beautiful location for couples photos, especially if you love colorful gardens, greenery, and a setting that still feels elegant and timeless even on a rainy day.
