📸 STRANGER MOM SESSION — Who’s in?! 💕

Okay, y’all have asked, so I think it’s time to make it happen!

I’m looking for moms who are willing to step a little outside their comfort zone, meet another mom they’ve never met before, and spend an evening laughing, talking, taking photos, and maybe walking away with a brand-new friend. 🥹

Motherhood can be lonely. Making friends as an adult is HARD—especially when you’re juggling kids, work, schedules, relationships, and approximately 47 other things at any given moment.

So… what if we changed that?

✨ Here’s how the Stranger Mom Session would work:

You sign up individually—no bringing your bestie. 😉

I’ll pair you with another mom you don’t know.

You’ll meet for the first time at your session.

We’ll start with some fun prompts and photos to break the ice, and then we’ll just let things happen naturally.

No pressure. No awkward posing. Just two moms meeting, laughing, talking about life, and getting some really fun photos along the way.

And who knows?

You might leave with pretty pictures.

You might leave with a new mom friend.

You might leave with someone who becomes part of your village. ❤️

It has officially become a yearly tradition with this crew. Six years strong! 🥹📸

We usually plan their photos around Katie and Josh’s anniversary, and somehow every year we find a way to make them even more fun.

This year, I saw the water hose idea and immediately knew Katie and Josh would be down because they are literally up for anything. 😂 Add the littles into the mix, and you can just feel the happiness and love radiating from this family.

And Miss Stella? Absolutely stole the show. 😂 Baby J wasn’t too far behind big sis, though!

I also have to say—Katie and Josh are 100% my kind of parents.

Oh, it’s a race? I’m winning.
You wanna sq**rt me with the water hose? BET. Here’s some water right back. 😂

No standing on the sidelines around here. If the kids are getting soaked, apparently everybody is getting soaked.

These were SO much fun, and sessions like this are exactly why I love what I do. 🤍

I will add I’m constantly asked to support organizations in my community, and if I’m able, I do it. However, many of those who ask never once think of me when someone’s needs a photographer, they don’t share my work, they don’t book with me- so I have started saying no more. I love donating my time, but I cannot justify that at my expense. 🤍

Unpopular opinion: Asking a small business for a sponsorship or donation isn’t “supporting small business” if the only time you support that business is when you need something from them.

I’m probably going to p**s some people off with this one, but it needs to be said. Small businesses get asked CONSTANTLY to sponsor teams, donate to fundraisers, give gift certificates, provide products, discount orders, donate shirts… the list goes on and on. And we’re happy to support our community. We WANT to support our community. But here’s the part nobody likes talking about: How often do you support those same businesses when you DON’T need something?

If you’re asking the local apparel decorator to donate $500 to your organization, but you ordered your last 200 shirts online because you saved a couple bucks, are you really supporting local? If you’re asking a restaurant for a $100 gift card for your fundraiser, but never eat there, how is that a partnership? If you’re asking a local business to sponsor your kid’s team, but you’ve never bought anything from them, recommended them, shared their posts, or sent them a customer… what exactly are they getting out of this “support?”

Supporting small business can’t only happen when you need the small business to support YOU.

I’m curious what the other small business owners on here think. Have you ever gotten a sponsorship or donation request that made you think, “You’ve literally never supported my business… but now you want me to support yours?” And on the flip side, what makes you WANT to say yes when someone asks?

Look at these cutie patooties.

I love the way Austin makes my friend’s nose crinkle.

Couples sessions don’t have to be stiff, awkward, or filled with perfectly posed smiles. 🤍

Give me the laughter. The flirting. The playful chaos. The way you naturally reach for each other when you think no one is paying attention.

THAT is what I want to capture.

These two understood the assignment. 🥹 From laughing until they couldn’t breathe to stealing kisses in between, their session felt less like taking pictures and more like documenting exactly who they are together.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to book photos with your person—this is it. 📸

I could not wait to post a sneak peak of these two!

I was lucky enough to work with Courtney the past several years. Not one time did I see her upset. She was always upbeat. She was always trying to take care of others. She always had a smile on her face. That's truly who she is.

She and Beau are looking to adopt, which prompted this session. Honestly, I feel so honored for several reasons. Courtney told me their wedding story (they married in New Orleans and if you know me, that's a dream of mine). She showed me their wedding album, and walked me through their love story. I had chills the entire time.

The book that's pictured was a gift that was given by a coworker. The coworker remained anonymous, but the thought was so sweet. We decided to incorporate it into this session.

I told Courtney and Beau that I had a good feeling about this session and that it would bring their baby home to them! I am so excited for this journey for them. They're going to be amazing parents, and I am so excited for them!
