"Engagement Season" = nonsense. The core truth of this time of year, is that when people are excited about making a commitment to each other as partners, they want to share that excitement with their community. This time of year is grounded in a sense of community: the ones we're born into, the ones we choose, and the ones we actively create. I will forever be grateful to be the designated witness to celebrate and visually preserve those bonds of community and partnership, which is really what a modern wedding is all about.

Gearing up for wedding + celebrations season to begin in earnest now that's April, and I'm keeping in mind one of my favorite lines from Susan Sontag. I've shared it before, but the best things are worth revisiting again and again; the very act of returning to us so much, how we've grown, how we've remained rooted in ourselves. ⠀⠀

Oh it is definitely that time of year, and I am deep into website refresh mode. I love getting to go back through all of the rad clients I've photographed, and the places they've taken me. Some places I've been before, but get to see again in a new way; other places I have never experienced, and get to appreciate + learn through their eyes. It's pretty awesome, and working with clients for whom capturing the essence of a place as well as people is something I truly love.⠀
