On a recent trip to Ouray, Colorado I had the fortune of spending a week off-roading with a good friend at elevations between 9000-13,000+ feet. I had the time of my life! I haven't had time to review the photography but hope to dive in over the next few days and share some of the landscape of Colorado that can only be experienced by 4 wheel drive and hiking at elevations between 10,000-14,000 feet. To give you an idea of this height- when on a commercial flight, the pilots typically rely it is approved to turn your electronics back on when they've reached 10,000 feet!

This mountain is called Lookout Mountain. I captured it on Ophir Pass. We had to wait so long for the clouds to clear that we had actually got back into the truck and started to pull away when all the sudden the clouds finally lifted enough to see the mountain so we jumped back out really quick to grab a few shots. Seconds later the fast moving clouds closed in again. I love the clouds in the shot

Strange light this week! Lots of cloud cover... most of this week our highs are in the 60's with a couple days of fierce wind that has us on alert for the potential of fire. We had a very wet monsoon and a lot of the grass it produced has dried for its dangerous in high winds.

This crazy mammoth of a rock sits outside my bedroom window. I'm fortunate in that it fills my bedroom window. I've starred as every ridge and corner of this rock - some days the light hits it in a way that looks surreal! A mountain lion, a few bobcats, a pack of coyote, a couple of fox, a raccoon, and deer call it's rock range home.

For those starting holiday gift giving shopping and ideas list, I have designed a number of coloring books for the holidays. They are between 150-200 pages thick, with crisp high quality white paper, and single-sided construction for painting, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and acrylics! On Amazon, look up "A Rachel & Luca Design" and my coloring books will pop up. There are a number of adult mandala-themed coloring books and children's books as well. In the next 3 weeks I hope to have a minimum of 25 books available for purchase prior to the holidays!!! Most of the books are $11.70 each.

This particular one is filled with Christmas cookies, dreamscapes that host stockings and ornaments, a maze of Christmas presents, snowman families and more!!! It's perfect for holiday get togethers or DIY Christmas decorating ideas after the illustrations have been colored!!
