Three weeks ago, Hurricane Helene changed life as we knew it in Western North Carolina. The damage and loss are immense, and I'm acutely aware of how fortunate I am that my family & home are safe and well.

In the midst of recovery, I've been reminded of the resilience and kindness of our community. To everyone who reached out, checked in, and offered support: thank you. Your messages meant more than you know.

Today, I'm honored to photograph a wedding that embodies that same spirit of resilience. Originally planned for Asheville, they pivoted to Florida in just three weeks. I'm grateful to capture their joy and the love surrounding them.

To all my clients who've been so understanding about changed plans: your grace and flexibility are truly appreciated.

This photo from last fall reminds me of the breathtaking beauty our mountains hold. While this year's landscape may look different, I'm looking forward to witnessing it rebuild..

The next few months are filled with engagement sessions and I can't wait. Getting to spend time with my couple's before the wedding day is always a yes for me. For this session we were able to take their photos on the groom's family land and the very spot where they will build their forever home.

Tented weddings, both ceremony and reception, are exquisite! Not only are they practical (they can offer shelter from the rain, protection from the sun, and heat in colder months), but they are beautiful when properly decorated! I've seen floral chandeliers, stunning lights, and fabric all hung beautifully from a wedding tent. Tents are something I'd love to see more of in 2024!

Joy, anticipation, excitement, nostalgia, sadness (if remembering a loved one who couldn't be there), and so many more!
