On mornings like this when I’m sitting in front of the fireplace with my dog Dixie and I’m drinking my coffee, I look up at my sister Cynthia’s photo. Every time I immediately lose it a bit as I miss her so much. I wish I had taken that long walk with her on the beach when she went to gather shells on our last vacation together. She loved to do that. Please live your life in a way you will always cherish your Beloveds, and that you always get to say that last “I love you” in actions and words. As she lay dying, I got to talk to her and tell her things and thank her for being who she was. She was complicated, but we all are. I sit with her every morning and don’t regret my last week with her. She died the day after I got home from seeing her and I’ll always cherish that time. I Love you Cynthia Loniak Perlman, you are forever in my heart.
